Novice House League (Etobicoke Ringette)

PrintNovice House League

Coordinator:

The emphasis in this league is on playing the game, sportsmanship, having fun and improving skating skills.

Players generally range from 7 to 10 years of age.  Players have some basic skating ability when they start. Most players are first or second year players.

This league starts in October and ends in late March. Games are held at Long Branch Arena on Sunday afternoons (23 weeks). New this year, there will be some indoor practice time on Friday evenings (specifics to be determined). Additional ice time for Ringette and skating skill development is available at an outdoor rink on Saturdays (December to February).

The registration fee includes:

o       20 games
o       In-door practice ice time
o       Team jersey
o       Individual and team picture
o       Trophy
o       Ticket to year-end banquet

To ensure equal ice time a 2-minute buzzer system is used for line changes. To equalize playing abilities on the ice an A line/B line system is used.

We encourage parents to volunteer and participate with the players in learning a new sport.
