Learn to Skate

Suitable for children aged 4+ who have little or no skating experience. Children will be divided into small groups where they will learn skills including balance, falling down and getting back up safely, striding, forward and backward skating, turns, and stopping. Weekly lessons will focus on progressive skills through instructor-led warmup, activities and games aimed at keeping participants engaged and having fun!

  • This 50-minute program is offered on Sundays at 2:00pm or 3:00pm at Long Branch Arena from late September - March, 2026. (Exact dates are TBD based on ice contracts with the City of Toronto). The exact session time will be confirmed prior to the program start date, based on registration demand.
  • Participants will be evaluated and assigned to appropriate skill groups within the first few sessions.
